Not Finishing Trilogy to A Drifter's Desire

I had planned to wrap up the trilogy with a heart-breaking conclusion. However, I have decided to cancel writing seeing as no one will read it.
a) My best friend and inspiration is no longer in contact with me now he has a nice new girlfriend.
b) It seems TrigunLovers has banned anything "non-canon" which means because I add a deep character not in the story that it cannot be featured. Struck down before even given a chance.

Not like this is the first time that's happened. It seems I fail as a writer once again.
